The work
stages of an
architect’s
service
The architect provides an administration and inspection service and works intensively with the
6 1 2
contractors leading up to the completion and delivery of the project.
When the construction work is substantially complete and can be used for the intended purpose, the
3
architect will inspect the project and issue a practical completion certificate and a list of defects (snag
5
4 list) that still need to be completed by the contractor. This completes work stage five of the project.
The building is normally occupied once practical completion has been certified.
